Haad Yao Area

The Beach

The Island's West Coast Paradise

Known as "Long Beach," Haad Yao is a stunning 1-km stretch of powdery white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. It is widely considered one of Koh Phangan’s most beautiful and perfectly balanced beaches—vibrant enough to have everything you need, yet peaceful enough to feel like a true escape.

Getting to Baan Kiao

Here is how to reach us, whether you use our local driver or find your own taxi at the pier.

Our Recommended Transfer Service
Arriving by External Taxi

We work with a reliable taxi company to ensure a smooth arrival. Before you arrive at the hotel, we will contact you to coordinate your pickup. Our driver will be waiting for you at the pier holding a sign with the Baan Kiao logo and will bring you directly to our reception.

If you choose an independent taxi, please insist that the driver brings you all the way down to the Baan Kiao Reception. The entrance involves a descent, and some external drivers may attempt to drop you at the main road instead of the resort entrance.

About the Haad Yao Area

Underwater Wonders

One of Haad Yao’s unique features is its thriving coral reef, located just a short swim from the shore. It is a premier spot for snorkeling and diving, where you can discover colorful marine life and vibrant coral formations without
needing a boat.

The Golden Sunset & Relaxation

As a west-facing bay, Haad Yao offers some of the most spectacular sunsets on the island. Every evening, the sky transforms into a canvas of gold and crimson. It’s the perfect time to enjoy a professional Thai massage right on the sand, combining the sound of the waves with ultimate relaxation.

Everything You Need

Within a short walk, you have access to everything for a comfortable stay: local boutiques, 7-Eleven, professional dive schools, and easy taxi access to nearby gems like Haad Salad and the famous sandbar at Koh Ma.

Local Culture & Nightlife

The area captures the true, laid-back spirit of Koh Phangan. You’ll find a diverse culinary scene featuring authentic Thai and Burmese street food alongside international favorites. The bay also hosts a few signature weekly events:

Bizarre Bazaar (Wednesdays): Held at the neighboring Seaboard Bungalows, this beachside market features local crafts, fire shows, and DJ sets from sunset until Midnight.

Apple Bar Parties (Thursdays or Saturdays): Perched on the hill with panoramic views of the bay, Apple Bar hosts vibrant music sessions that last until 02:00 AM.
